Thankful for a Comprehensive School Wellness Policy

My name is Joanna Lee. I am from Lawton, Oklahoma, and I currently attend Lawton High School. This is my first year in the YAHL program, and I have had the wonderful privilege of being on the leadership team. As a result of being a busy student athlete, the nutritional content I consume during school hours is super important to ensure my performance is consistent. Lawton High School does a great job at providing clean drinking water and ensuring athletes get plenty of practice and proper training every day. I have a comprehensive school wellness policy to thank for my access to clean drinking water and physical activity. However, not every student has these privileges, which inspires me to create this same environment for other schools across the state.
