Advocating For Student Success

Hello, my name is Morgan, and I am a senior at Tyrone High School. I have been on the YAHL Leadership Team for three years. As a YAHL member, I have worked on the Elevate Student Health campaign by collecting surveys, conducting principal meetings and presenting to my school board. I enjoy the work we are doing with this campaign because I believe that everyone deserves to live healthy and successful lives. The health and success of a student begins in school, which is what makes the school wellness policy important.

In our school, we have been pretty lucky with the resources we are offered. We have clean water options at lunch and 55-minute physical activity classes. Not every school in the state of Oklahoma has these privileges. I will continue to advocate for comprehensive school wellness policies through the Elevate Student Health campaign, so that more schools can have access to what they need to be successful.
